Steel Production Levels

Watching levels of steel production rise and fall can be like riding a roller coaster: you’re too busy screaming as you go down hills and cheering as you go up rises to get a good picture of what the entire track looks like.  So, a chart like this one from the Wikimedia Foundation is very interesting, since it shows, very simply, what the status of steel production has been like over the past few years, and what kinds of trends have been emerging of late.  Generally speaking, steel production has been climbing up worldwide, Europe and the US have been creeping down, and China and India are just exploding upwards.
